As you will no doubt be aware, the government has announced measures to counteract the corona virus pandemic. In particular, we are all advised to stop non-essential social contact and to stay at home as much as possible; the exception being to take daily excercise which can include cycling, either solo or with other members of your household.
In light of this advice, the WCC Committee has decided to suspend all Woking Cycling Club organised group and outdoor activities. This cessation includes all club group rides (Saturday and Sunday), competitions (time trials, hill climbs), the 100 km challenge, Go-Ride sessions and social activities.
We can not say at this time when we will be able to resume our normal activities. With the 100 km challenge we will decide in the weeks ahead what we will set as this year's rules for completion.
It is very disappointing to have to take this action particularly as the weather is just turning to spring / summer conditions but it needs to be done. We will announce when our activities will resume so please check our web site and social media feeds regularly for updates.
However we are still active as a club, keeping in touch with each other through our Facebook members pages. We also meet up socially online in lieu of our monthly social evenings and we are running virtual group rides, hill climbs and time trials using online platforms.
Keep safe everyone and look after your families and friends.
